Changes to US Youth Soccer beginning with the Fall 2016 season.
Older D3 recreational teams form at 2 year intervals under state association guidelines and are formed by a draft procedure.
Players born in 2017 birth year will play the Under 8 banner and will be labeled as Under 8 for the fall 2024 and spring 2025 seasons. Players are DRAFTED. Only head coaches and assistant coaches are guaranteed a spot on the same team. Teammate requests can be made, but are not always able to be honored due to the draft. Teams at this age group will play 7v7 soccer with a goalkeeper.
Players born in 2015 and 2016 birth years will play in a combined age group under the Under 9-10 banner and will be labeled as Under 10 for the fall 2024 and spring 2025 seasons. Players will play two years in this age group, one as an Under 9 and one as an Under 10. Players are DRAFTED. Only head coaches and assistant coaches are guaranteed a spot on the same team. Teammate requests can be made, but are not always able to be honored due to the draft. Teams at this age group will play 7v7 soccer with a goalkeeper.
Players remain on the same team from fall to spring as long as they keep playing. New players each spring who did not play in the fall are drafted to fill spots available. But, everyone will be placed on a team.

Our older D3 teams generally practice 1 to 2 times per week and may have a specified trainer as well. Our younger teams U10 and below play games against other JFC teams. All Under 10 games take place at the JFC Soccer Complex unless due to low participation the teams need to play other clubs, then you may travel in the Jackson and surrounding area to play at times. Our teams formed in Under 12 and above will play games against teams that are part of the Madison Soccer league as well as teams from other local clubs in the Jackson area in their respective age groups. Some games will take place at the JFC Complex while others may be at the host club of the team you will play. All training will be at the JFC complex.
These teams may also compete in MSA sanctioned tournaments. It is a great way to compete and have FUN with your schoolmates and other friends.
